THE JOY OF THE SERVICE!

Get involved at CMLC through volunteering in one of our many Community Service Ministries.  It’s a great way to meet others who have a heart for service and share the JOY. At CMLC, our Community Service programs offer a variety of opportunities to get involved right in our own backyard and share God’s love with others.  Some examples of our Community Service projects include but are not limited to the following: 

NEXT OPPORTUNITY - FEBRUARY 11, 2012

+ Homeless Ministry (Partner with Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries) Christ Memorial is partnering with PLM and Pastor Joshua Gale to provide meals to homeless men and women on the 2nd Saturday each month! We'd love to have you share the JOY as we serve!

There are several opportunities to be involved:

      #1 Clean out your closets and bring in BLANKETS and TOOTHBRUSHES to be delivered on Feb.11th. 

      #2 Join the fun as we make sandwiches from 4 - 5:00 pm on 2/11. 

      #3 Meet Pastor Gale at LOVE Park at 6:00 pm to share the LOVE with homeless by handing out blankets, hot coffee, and sandwiches.  You should return to CMLC around 7:30 pm.

NEXT OPPORTUNITY - FEBRUARY 10, 2012

+ At the Care Center

Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

      It is our JOY to be able to teach a "Sunday School lesson" on Fridays! Volunteers are needed to provide snacks, help with crafts, games, and teach. We'd love to have you join us!

             " It was a blessing and a privilege to help out at the Care Center for Christ, in West Chester. The love and joy expressed by the preschool children as we sung songs about Jesus and shared Bible stories was heart-warming. These precious children are eager to hear about Jesus and they shine when they sing and dance and prepare Bible crafts. It was a glimpse into what Jesus must have experienced in Matthew 19:14." (teacher, Lisa) 

NEXT OPPORTUNITY IS FEBRUARY 1, 2012

Christ Memorial is partnering with YL to provide an opportunity for teen moms to come together to learn life skills, while their babies are getting some "TLC!" If you'd like to come with us to the Reformed Presbyterian Church in West Chester, we'd love to have you!  There are opportunities to babysit and develop relationships with these young moms.  They are truly so thankful for the hearts that care!

Consider sharing the LOVE with us on the first Wednesday each month from 7 - 9:00 pm.

For us at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, community service is tangible,visible proof that we love the Lord our God!
