The Women's Guild at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church is the society level of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). Individual congregational LWML societies meet regularly for fellowship, mission work, Bible study, devotion, and other specific projects. The ladies of LWML participate in many mission projects in our community, as well as around the world. During the past year some of the projects we at Christ Memorial supported were: providing support to a seminarian, collecting gifts for children at the Kindred House in West Chester to give their mothers for Christmas, collecting school supplies as an outreach to local school age children at the Care Center for Christ in West Chester, collecting diapers and formula for a new mission daycare in Northeast Philadelphia, and sewing pillowcase dresses for girls in Haiti and sorting and packing shipments for Orphan Grain Train.

Meetings at Christ Memorial are generally held on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning at 7:30 pm beginning with social time followed by a short business meeting then a program pertaining to mission work or other's women's issues. Exceptions to the normal are 2012-13 schedule are:

* December 13th - This is our special Christmas dinner which begins at 6:30 pm. There is a "Secret Pal" gift exchange (if you don't have a "Secret Pal" just bring a gift) - $15 limit. We will also be donating gift wrap and gifts for children at a local shelter to pick out and give to their mother's at Christmas.

* January 13th - Soup and Quilting Luncheon held after late service until 2:00 pm. No experience needed!

* March 6th & 7th - Hostess the brunch for CMLC preschool parents from 9:00 - 10:00 am both days.

An annual donation of  $20 is suggested in lieu of monthly dues. This donation covers the cost of Lutheran Women's Quarterly, which contains interesting articles and Bible studies, the Eastern District Link (newsletter), and some funds to cover minor guild expenses.

Each LWML Guild member keeps a "mite box" to collect loose change and bring to the monthly meetings to donate to the Eastern District and National LWML mission grant goals. Mission grant proposals are presented and voted on at the Eastern District Conventions (held in even numbered years) and the National Conventions (held in odd numbered years).
